As an Economics student at the University of Alberta, I’ve always been fascinated by what drives Edmonton’s growth and development. Now five weeks into my Market Analyst internship at Cushman & Wakefield Edmonton, I’m seeing firsthand how the commercial real estate market shapes our city.
So far, I’ve learned how to analyze site locations, interpret demographic trends, and manage the firm’s market database. It’s eye-opening to view buildings I’ve known my entire life through a new lens—understanding their value, leasing strategies, and the planning behind future developments. Getting an insider’s perspective on what’s next for Edmonton has been especially exciting.
